“This is an historic honour—which matches the weight of our times,” says Prime Minister Mark Carney as he confirms that King Charles III will deliver the Speech from the Throne on May 27 to open the 45th Parliament. A new Liberal cabinet will be sworn in the week of May 12. This is the prime minister’s first press conference since the Liberals won the April 28 federal election.
