“British Columbians and Canadians across the country are shaken by the horrific attack at the Lapu Lapu Festival in Vancouver last night. What should have been a joyful event, has become a horrific night.

Today is a day to wrap our arms around the Filipino community, and Vancouver and BC families to grieve together and offer our support.

Today, we gather to mourn for lives lost, for families shattered and for a community wounded so deeply. We cannot imagine the depth of their grief — but they are not alone.

New Democrats are with the Filipino community in mourning, in solidarity and in resolve.”
