Campaign Politics | Vote 2025 – Burnaby Central/New Westminster—Burnaby—Maillardville

CPAC’s Laura Di Battista visits two ridings in suburban Vancouver that could change colours for the first time in several elections.

In Burnaby Central, NDP leader and incumbent Jagmeet Singh is facing a battle on two fronts, from the Liberal Wade Chang, a lawyer with degrees from Melbourne and Oxford and from the Conservative James Yan, a high-tech executive.

In neighbouring New Westminster-Burnaby-Maillardville, the incumbent Peter Julian of the NDP and the MP here since 2004, is up against two political newbies; a real estate agent for the Conservatives, Indy Panchi and from the Liberals, Jake Sawatzky, a recent graduate from the University of British Columbia.
