British Columbia Premier David Eby announces 10 new involuntary care beds at the mental-health unit of Surrey Pretrial Services Centre in Surrey, British Columbia.

He is joined at the news conference by Amna Shah (MLA for Surrey City Centre), Terry Yung (MLA for Vancouver-Yaletown), Daniel Vigo (B.C.’s chief scientific adviser for psychiatry, toxic drugs and concurrent disorders), Jennifer Duff (chief operating officer for BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services), and Fatima Benrabah (registered nurse).
