Carney says “I fully expect we are going to exceed” $28 billion in cuts « Canada’s NDP

Mark Carney’s platform includes $28 billion in undefined cuts. And now he says that he expects to cut even more than that:

“We have a very prudent approach to our cost reductions. I fully expect that we are going to exceed those cost reductions.” (Video)

University of Alberta economist Andrew Leach criticized both parties yesterday: “whether it’s Liberal or Conservatives, you have a lot of undefined elements in a platform.”

Carney has frequently talked about wanting to cut the operating budget, which he repeatedly defined as including “the transfers to provinces, health and education transfers.”
