A group of Black public service workers hold a press conference in Ottawa to announce the next steps in their legal battle with the federal government. Last month, a federal court dismissed a motion to certify a proposed $2.5-billion class-action lawsuit launched by the group, who allege anti-Black racism and discrimination in the public service.

Speaking with reporters are Nicholas Marcus Thompson, president of the Black Class Action Secretariat, and Hugh Scher, lawyer for the plaintiffs.
