CPAC’s Lucy van Oldenbarneveld reports on two ridings in the province of New Brunswick where Conservatives are optimistic that they can pick up some seats in traditional Liberal ridings.

In Fredericton–Oromocto, where the incumbent Jenica Atwin decided not to run, the Conservatives have nominated former MLA and member of the military Brian Macdonald to help turn the riding back to Blue for the first time since 2011.The Liberals meanwhile, have brought in singer/songwriter and native son David Myles as their candidate. The New Democrat here is Nicki Lyons-MacFarlane and Pam Allen-Leblanc is the running for the Green Party

In Saint John–Kennebecasis, Wayne Long is running again for the Liberal Party. He has held the riding since 2015 and his main challenger is Melissa Young for the Conservative Party, a former executive with Skilled Trades Ontario. The NDP candidate is Armand Cormier and David MacFarquhar, an engineer with a Masters degree in physics is the Green Party’s candidate.
