Statement on Violent Home Invasion and Robbery

Hamilton, ON – Ned Kuruc, Conservative Candidate for Hamilton East—Stoney Creek, issued the following statement on the violent robbery in Grimsby:

“Like many families across our region, I was shocked to hear the news of the violent home invasion in Grimsby yesterday.

“My heart goes out to the victims who have to deal with the trauma of the violence that they experienced.

“It didn’t used to be like this. Families used to feel safe walking our streets and could go to bed without locking their doors.

“The Liberals have unleashed a wave of crime and chaos on our streets.  Violent crime is up 50%. Car theft is up 46%. And gun crime is up 116%.

“Mark Carney has said that locking up multiple murderers for the rest of their lives is ‘dangerous’. He rejected locking up repeat, violent offenders for a minimum of ten years. And he has surrounded himself with Liberal candidates who have supported catch-and-release baildrug legalization, and defunding the police.

“Only a new Conservative government will stop the crime, lock up dangerous criminals, and give repeat violent offenders jail, not bail. Only Conservatives will bring home safe streets for law-abiding Canadians–For a Change.”
