At Queen’s Park, Ontario Lieutenant-Governor Edith Dumont delivers the speech from the throne to open the first session of the 44th provincial parliament.

The speech lays out the priorities of Premier Doug Ford and his Progressive Conservative government, who are returning to the legislature with a third majority.

The speech outlines a plan to strengthen and protect Ontario’s economy in the face of U.S. tariffs, pledging to eliminate interprovincial trade barriers and speed up approvals for resource development projects. (English interpretation only)
