Jagmeet Singh promises to protect tenants with national rent control – April 6, 2025

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh holds a news conference in Halifax after speaking with local residents. He announces that an NDP government would make access to federal housing funding for provinces and municipalities conditional on policies that protect tenants, like rent control.

Singh is joined by local NDP candidate Lisa Roberts. Voters head to the polls on April 28.
