L’Essentiel : Les tarifs de Trump sur l’automobile s’invitent dans la campagne – 27 mars 2025

L’annonce de mercredi soir du président américain Donald Trump concernant l’implantation de tarifs de 25% sur chaque voiture importée aux États-Unis a perturbé la campagne électorale fédérale. Le chef libéral Mark Carney a revêtu ses habits de premier ministre en revenant à Ottawa pour s’entretenir d’urgence avec son comité spécial chargé des relations canado-américaines.

La journaliste économique Michèle Boisvert affirme à notre animatrice Catherine Lafrance que ces tarifs « feront très mal » au Canada, et que ses effets se feront ressentir sur le secteur des services.

Selon le site Web de projections électorales 338Canada, le Parti libéral enverrait 187 députés à la Chambre des communes et formerait un gouvernement majoritaire. Le fondateur de 338Canada, Philippe J. Fournier, explique à notre antenne que la domination actuelle des libéraux aux dépens des conservateurs est notamment attribuable à la faiblesse du vote néo-démocrate.
