Selon plusieurs médias, le premier ministre Mark Carney demandera à la gouverneure générale Mary Simon de dissoudre le Parlement ce dimanche. Les Canadiens seraient appelés aux urnes le 28 avril ou le 5 mai. Notre animatrice Catherine Lafrance discute des forces en présence au Parti libéral, au Parti conservateur et au NPD avec les journalistes Émilie Bergeron (La Presse canadienne), Catherine Lévesque (National Post) et Joël-Denis Bellavance (La Presse).

Le Canada pourrait signer prochainement un partenariat militaire avec l’Union européenne. Cette entente pourrait être importante pour le Canada, puisqu’une partie de l’armement serait fabriquée ici. Nous en parlons avec le Sénateur Peter Boehm, ancien sous-ministre pour le Sommet du G7 et ancien ambassadeur en Allemagne.

Le président américain Donald Trump a exigé la démission du juge fédéral ayant suspendu sa décision d’expulser 200 Vénézuéliens présumément membres d’un gang. L’ancien procureur de l’état du Maryland Eric Lisann affirme qu’il s’agit d’une action qui va « contre l’esprit de la Constitution. »
