
Rothfos, McCabe & Sittler named KIJHL 3 Stars
Luke Rothfos (Kamloops Storm), Logan McCabe (Grand Forks Border Bruins) and Blake Sittler (Princeton Posse) have been selected as the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending March 16/25.
Rothfos – Top Forward – The Devon, Alta., native scored three goals and added an assist to help the Storm earn a split in their first two games against the 100 Mile House Wranglers. He did that while playing an average of 21:48 a game and had a minus one rating. In their 5-3 win in Game 1 on March 14, Rothfos scored to tie game 1-1. In their 5-4 2OT loss in Game 2, he had two goals and an assist. Rothfos leads the Storm with four goals and seven assists in seven games.
McCabe – Top Defenceman – The Edmonton native had a goal and two assists for the Border Bruins, helping them take a 2-0 lead against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks. He did that playing an average of 22:44 with a plus three rating. In their 4-3 win in Game 1, McCable assisted on the winning goal. In their 8-7 win in Game 2, the 6-0, 190 pound blueliner scored and assisted on the 7-5 goal. In six games, McCabe has two goals and five assists.
Sittler – Top Goalie – The Dodsland, Sask., native opened the Posse’s series against the Revelstoke Grizzlies with a 28-save shutout performance – a 3-0 Game 1 victory. Sittler faced 11 shots in the final period. He is 4-1-0 in the playoffs with a 1.00 goals against average and a .964 save percentage.
