L’Essentiel : Le PM Carney annonce des investissements dans l’Arctique – 18 mars 2025

Le premier ministre Mark Carney a annoncé ce mardi plusieurs mesures pour mieux asseoir la souveraineté du Canada sur l’Arctique. Parmi elles, la mise au point avec l’Australie d’un radar pouvant détecter des missiles hypersoniques. Est-ce que ces investissements sont suffisants pour assurer la défense canadienne ? Notre animatrice Catherine Lafrance en discute avec l’ancien lieutenant-général, André Deschamps.

Nous discutons également des implications géopolitiques du Canada par rapport à cette annonce avec le Sénateur à la retraite Jean-Guy Dagenais, qui était vice-président du comité de la Défense.

La journaliste et responsable du département international du Ukraine Crisis Media Centre, Tetyana Ogarkhova, affirme à notre animatrice que les Ukrainiens sont « très méfiants » face à l’idée que Moscou respecte sa trêve partielle négociée avec Washington sur les infrastructures énergétiques.
