Ottawa, ON—The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, released the following statement on Holi:

“Every year, the sounds, colours and spirit are unmistakable. Streets around the world are transformed with music, dancing and the vibrancy of colourful powders as billions of people come together.

“As friends, family and strangers alike are painted with gulal on Holi, Hindus celebrate the stories at the heart of their faith. Today offers spiritual renewal for the new year and a reminder of the strength we find in our communities.

“Just as the brightness of spring overcomes the darkness of winter, the brightness of Holi encourages us to look ahead with hope in overcoming the challenges we face.

“I send my best wishes to everyone celebrating the Festival of Colours. May the love and joy at the heart of the festival fill you with hope and strength as we welcome spring.   “Happy Holi! Holi Hai!”
