NDP wishes you a happy Holi! « Canada’s NDP

Canada’s NDP leader, Jagmeet Singh, made the following statement:

“From my family to yours’, I wish everyone celebrating a happy Holi.

For Hindus, Holi marks the beginning of spring and a period of renewal, love, optimism, friendship and hope. It celebrates the eternal and divine love of the deities Radha and Krishna, and the triumph of good over evil.

This year, as people all across the country celebrate Holi and the Festival of Colours, I’m reflecting on how Canadian values are reflected in the values of Holi. We’re a nation of optimism, a nation of people who take care of our neighbours, and a nation that believes in the power of good over evil.

From myself and all New Democrats, have a joyous and peace-filled Holi.”
