Alberta Premier Danielle Smith responds to U.S. tariffs – March 5, 2025

Speaking with reporters in Medicine Hat, Premier Danielle Smith discusses her government’s response to the U.S. tariffs on Canadians goods, which took effect yesterday. The premier also provides an update on efforts to enhance security along the Alberta-Montana border.

She is joined by provincial cabinet ministers Mike Ellis (public safety), Mickey Amery (justice) and Devin Dreeshen (economic corridors), as well as Ken Howdle (inspector, Alberta Sheriffs).
