OTTAWA – Canada’s NDP has released its first pre-election TV ad – an ad that shows who Jagmeet Singh is fighting for, and what motivates him.

In the 30-second English-language spot, Fighting For You, Singh talks about his motivation while sparring in the boxing ring. Meanwhile, images of young Singh with his family, Singh with everyday Canadians, and Singh standing up to ultra-wealthy CEOs appear on screen.

The NDP will spend a half-million dollars to put Fighting For You on screens all over Canada starting Friday.

I worked for minimum wage to take care of my family when my dad was sick, and made it out of law school to see the system only works for those at the top.

So I got in the ring to take on the powerful few and fight for you. It’s time for someone in your corner. Especially when times are tough.

I won’t back down. I won’t stop fighting for you. I’m ready.
