Kamloops Storm goalie Brenner Fyfe is this week’s Young Guns selection after making 68 saves on 72 shots in wins over the Castlegar Rebels and Chase Heat. He saved 33 of 35 against the Rebels and 35 of 37 against the Heat. He had a .944 save percentage with a 2.00 goals against average.

Storm head coach Andrew Fisher said the 6-4, 215-pound Fyfe played really steady.

“He takes up a lot of net, competes on every play and I think after giving up the couple early ones against Castlegar, he refocused and settled down for the rest of the game,” said Fisher.

The Storm coach added Fyfe made a flurry of successive saves against the Heat that were key.

“He made a few back-to-back-to-back saves,” said Fisher. “He kept us in it. I think we went down and scored not too much longer after that.”

Fyfe is 15-12-0 on the season with one shutout and a 2.99 GAA with a .922 SP.
