Talk Today Game: February 26 vs. Portland
Talk Today Game Day: Raising Mental Wellness Awareness for Athletes
February 26 at 7 PM – Join Us for a Special Event Supporting Mental Health in Sports
On February 26 at the Sandman Centre, CMHA invites Blazers fans to participate in Talk Today Game Day, an initiative dedicated to raising awareness for mental wellness among elite amateur athletes and their support networks. Since its inception in 2014, Talk Today has positively impacted over 11,000 athletes, helping foster a culture of awareness, support, and acceptance for mental health in sports.
Talk Today is a suicide awareness program specifically catered to athletes and their communities, encouraging open dialogue and providing resources to support mental wellness.
By engaging athletes, coaches, families, and fans, the initiative creates safe spaces where everyone – including those supporting the players – is encouraged to prioritize mental health.
We want to remind everyone that mental wellness is just as important as physical wellness in sports, and it’s essential for athletes and their supporters to feel empowered to ask for help when they need it.
The event will include a variety of activities designed to engage the community, raise awareness, and provide opportunities to learn more about supporting mental wellness in sports. Everyone is invited to join in and show their support by dressing in teal and light green on Game Day, and by participating in the conversation online using #TalkToday to share the message that mental health matters.
