Mark Carney comments on tariff threat, timing of next federal election – February 13, 2025

In Vancouver, federal Liberal leadership candidate Mark Carney holds a news conference to discuss his proposed plan to boost the construction of housing in Canada. Responding to questions from reporters, Carney comments on the possibility that a federal election could be called shortly after the Liberal party selects its new leader on March 9. He also discusses the response to the ongoing U.S. tariff threat and on his plan to reach the NATO defence spending target of 2 per cent of GDP by 2030.
