Blue screen of death: Can cosmic rays crash your computer?

They can incapacitate satellites, cause plane autopilot systems to disengage without warning and change the result of an election.

The Physics Department is pleased to invite faculty members, staff and students to an upcoming lecture by the Canadian Association of Physicists. This series of talks brings exciting physics to undergraduate audiences around the country.

This year, the TRU lecture will be given by Dr. Camille Belanger-Champagne, co-ordinator for TRIUMF’s irradiation facilities in Vancouver.
