Holocaust memorial ceremony in Ottawa – January 27, 2025

Elected officials, diplomats and community figures gather in Ottawa to commemorate victims of the Holocaust. The ceremony takes place on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, this year marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.

Speakers at the event include Annette Wildgoose (president of the National Holocaust Monument Committee), Iddo Moed (Israel’s ambassador to Canada), Witold Dzielski (Poland’s ambassador to Canada), Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, Liberal MP Rachel Bendayan, and Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre.
