Does Carney Support Disastrous NDP-Liberal Hard Drug Legalization Agenda?

Ottawa, ON — Carbon Tax Carney is running to be the Prime Minister in six short weeks, but he’s hiding from answering questions. And today, he was endorsed by radical hard drug legalization advocate Nate Erskine-Smith.

Canadians need answers. Does Carbon Tax Carney share Erskine-Smith’s radical views?

What makes him radical? To start, he believes that deadly hard drugs like meth, heroin, crack cocaine and fentanyl should be legalized. On his own website, he brags about passing Bill C-5, which eliminated mandatory jail time for drug dealers and producers. Here are just a few quotes:

  • “We should decriminalize all drug use and possession.” (Nate Erskine-Smith, Vice, January 26, 2017).
  • Legalizing all drugs would be good for Canada, according to Toronto Liberal MP (CBC, January 31, 2017).
  • Beaches-East York MP calls on government to decriminalize all drugs (Beach Metro Community News, January 26, 2017).
  • “C-5 doesn’t go as far as it should”…”But it will make it virtually impossible to prosecute a drug possession offence.” (Nate Erskine-Smith, Twitter, June 15, 2022).
  • “We have vilified and criminalized certain substances and the people who use them.” (Nate Erskine-Smith, YouTube, February 1, 2023).
  • “From drugs to sex work to you know assisted dying, there are so many different examples where when we push something underground the problems get so much worse.” (Nate Erskine-Smith, TheMunkDebates YouTube, January 21, 2022).
  • “To pursue prohibition of any substance we see it go underground.” (Nate Erskine-Smith, TheMunkDebates YouTube, January 21, 2022).
  • “Let’s talk about regulating a safe supply and expanding a safe supply.” “Portugal was more coercive than I would like.” (Nate Erskine-Smith, Youtube, February 15, 2022).

There have been 49,000 drug deaths since Trudeau became PM. But today, Mark Carney is accepting the endorsement of a Liberal MP who wants to legalize meth, heroin, crack and fentanyl. If Mark Carney wants to be Prime Minister, he owes it to Canadians to answer questions on hard drug legalization, and to be specific.
