Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers are excited to kick off the new year with an action-packed month of home games in January, featuring fan-favourite theme nights, special community initiatives, and exciting matchups. Fans will not want to miss these incredible events, including the return of some big-name players and former Blazers. Here’s a look at the upcoming games and events:
January 10: First Responders Night
The Blazers welcome Connor Levis and the Vancouver Giants for First Responders Night at the Sandman Centre, where tickets will be donated to local first responders through our Community Commitment program. We honour the selfless efforts of those who serve our community, and this night is dedicated to showing our gratitude. Be sure to join us as we celebrate the heroes who keep us safe!
January 11: Blueliner Club Night
The BC Division leading Prince George Cougars come to town on January 11, as the Blazers welcome members of the Blueliner Club to the game. Young fans will enjoy a special breakfast with the team on Sunday, January 12th, allowing them to interact with their favourite players and gain insights into life on the ice. It’s a night to inspire the next generation of hockey stars!
January 22: Wolfpack Wednesday
TRU Students, Staff, and Alumni – this one’s for you! As part of Wolfpack Wednesday, discounted tickets will be available for TRU students, staff and alumni, as the Blazers welcome the Brandon Wheat Kings to the River City. Brandon’s goaltending tandem of Alex Garrett (2.71 GAA) and Carson Bjarnson (.913 SV %) is one of the best in the WHL. Get your tickets, bring your friends, and show your support for the Blazers while taking advantage of this great offer!
January 24: Girl Guides Night & Officiating Night
January 24 is a night filled with community involvement. Local Girl Guides will be on hand selling their famous cookies – don’t miss out on a sweet treat! Meanwhile, Officiating Night will allow local minor hockey officials to meet with game officials, get an inside look at the game, and even line up with them before puck drop. Plus, there’s a special intermission activity to keep things exciting. It’s a night for both the girl guides and aspiring referees to shine! Hopefully, there aren’t too many penalties to call as our Okanagan rivals, the Kelowna Rockets, come to town.
January 29: Indigenous Night
Join us on January 29 as we celebrate Indigenous Night. The Tri-City Americans cross the border and visit Kamloops in a game featuring two Western Conference teams with playoff aspirations. Indigenous Night is sponsored by Sun Ridge Contracting. The Blazers will wear a special jersey designed by Secwépemc artist Garrett G. Gottfriedson, and sponsored by the Sc.wén̓wen Economic Development Corporation, which will be featured in an online auction after the game. Fans can celebrate Indigenous Night and show their support by pre-ordering exclusive merchandise featuring the jersey design.
January 31: Mascot Night & Pet Partners Night
January 31 brings a fun and furry twist with Mascot Night! All of Digger’s mascot friends will be in the building to meet fans and take photos on the concourse while cheering on the Blazers as they take on the Swift Current Broncos and the WHL’s top goal scorer Luke Mistelbacher. Additionally, Pet Partners will be onsite to help raise awareness for animal welfare. The Blazers will be collecting donations for the Four Paws Food Bank, and other local pet organizations will have booths showcasing their missions. It’s a night for fans of all ages – both human and furry!
