Canada’s NDP leader Jagmeet Singh made the following statement:

“Happy New Year!

Tonight, people across the country are getting together to mark the New Year and celebrate new beginnings.

2025 is the people’s time. Instead of another year that favours billionaires and CEOs, let’s make 2025 a year where every, regular working families finally get ahead.

I have hope for 2025. Together, we can build a movement – and start to build up the Canada we dream of, where health care is accessible to all, and where a good job is enough to afford a decent home that fits your family and a fridge full of groceries. I believe our best days are ahead.

From family and all New Democrats to yours, Happy New Year!”
