New Democrats wish Canadians a happy Hanukkah! « Canada’s NDP

Canada’s NDP leader Jagmeet Singh made the following statement:

“On behalf of all New Democrats, I want to wish the Canadian Jewish community and all of those celebrating a happy first night of Hanukkah.
I hope each night is filled with light, family, gifts and lots of delicious food like latkes and sufganiyot.
Amid these celebrations, I want to acknowledge how hard the last year has been for the Jewish community.
Hamas’s attack last October was the deadliest year for Jewish people since the Holocaust. Canada has seen a rise in antisemitism ever since, with horrific attacks on Jewish schools, synagogues and community centres. New Democrats are steadfast in standing with the Jewish community and rooting out antisemitism in all its forms. We are stronger, together.
Once again, on behalf of all New Democrats, Chag Hanukkah Sameach!”
