Dominic LeBlanc, the minister of finance and intergovernmental affairs, holds a news conference on Parliament Hill to outline the federal government’s border plan. He is joined by ministers Marc Miller (immigration), Mary Ng (international trade), and Ya’ara Saks (mental health and addictions).

Incoming U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to impose a 25 per cent import tariff on all products from Canada and Mexico if the two countries fail to curb the flow of migrants and drugs, particularly fentanyl, across their borders.
