Ministers speak briefly with reporters on Parliament Hill as the federal cabinet holds its weekly meeting. Minister François-Philippe Champagne (innovation) and Mary Ng (trade) comment on Minister Sean Fraser’s decision to not seek re-election. They also face questions on the fall economic statement.

Anita Anand (Treasury Board president, transport) and Patty Hajdu (Indigenous services), Marie-Claude Bibeau (revenue), Steven Guilbeault (environment), Rob Oliphant (parliamentary secretary to foreign affairs minister) and Champagne react to Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland’s resignation from cabinet on the day she was set to deliver the fall economic statement.
