Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe pushes for a federal election – December 13, 2024

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe is reacting to news reports hinting that the federal government is considering export taxes as one possible response, should Donald Trump ultimately carry out his 25% tariff threat. Moe wrote on X that such response was never been mentioned during Wednesday’s call with Trudeau and the premiers. In a Global News interview, he also pushed for a federal election, so Canadians can choose “who they would like to have a four-year mandate to negotiate with the incoming Trump administration.”
