MPs comment on first ministers’ meeting on tariff threats, Canada Post strike – December 11, 2024

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau comments briefly on tonight’s meeting with Canada’s premiers on U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s tariff threats.

Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon faces questions on the ongoing Canada Post strike, which is nearing its one month mark.

Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau (national revenue), as well as Liberal MPs Fayçal El-Khoury and Salma Zahid comment on the House of Commons justice committee’s new report on Islamophobia, which among other recommendations calls for the increased representation of Arab, Muslim and Palestinian faculty members at Universities across the country.
