Fareed Khan, the founder of Canadians United Against Hate, holds a news conference in Ottawa to mark the International Day to Commemorate Victims of Genocide (December 9) and International Human Rights Day (December 10). Khan and others are calling attention to the situation in Gaza and the “decline of rights protections” in Canada.

He is joined by Abu-Zahra (Palestinian-Canadian researcher with the University of Ottawa’s human rights research and education centre), Rabbi David Mivasair (human rights activist and member of Independent Jewish Voices), Yipeng Ge (Ottawa physician who has travelled to Gaza), and Yavar Hameed (Ottawa-based human rights lawyer).
