Federal ombudsperson releases study on responses to hate crime – December 10, 2024

Benjamin Roebuck, Canada’s ombudsperson for victims of crime, holds a news conference on Parliament Hill for the release of a study on responses to hate crime.

He is joined by Amira Elghawaby (Canada’s Special Representative on Combatting Islamophobia), Deborah Lyons (Canada’s Special Envoy on Preserving Holocaust Remembrance and on Combatting Antisemitism), Mohammed Hashim (executive director of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation), and Mariam Musse (project lead from the Office of the Federal Ombudsperson for Victims of Crime).
