First Nations community leaders and police service representatives hold a news conference on the sidelines of the Assembly of First Nations’ Special Chiefs Assembly in Ottawa.

The speakers provide an update on the Indigenous Police Chiefs of Ontario’s human rights complaint against the federal government over police jurisdiction. They also discuss the Supreme Court’s recent decision in Quebec v. Pekuakamiulnuatsh Takuhikan, which found that Quebec must provide more funding for a First Nations police force in Mashteuiatsh.
