MPs comment on GST holiday bill – November 28, 2024

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons. Government House Leader Karina Gould, NDP MPs Alexandre Boulerice, Leah Gazan and Blake Desjarlais as well as Bloc Québécois MP Gabriel Ste-Marie comment on the minority Liberal government’s legislation for a two-month GST pause on some household items. The bill, which is being debated in the House of Commons on Wednesday, is expected to pass with the support of the NDP. The Conservatives and the Bloc Québécois have voiced their opposition to the legislation.
