10:00 ET / 7:00 PT: Head of London-based women’s shelter holds a news conference

At a news conference in Ottawa, the London Abused Women’s Centre (LAWC) and parliamentarians highlight some actions the federal government has taken to support and protect women and girls. The event marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Speaking with reporters are Jennifer Dunn (executive director of the LAWC), Senator Kim Pate, and Liberal MPs Arielle Kayabaga, Karen Vecchio and Pam Damoff.
