Privilege motion, Boissonnault family history claims – November 18, 2024

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons. Ministers Karina Gould (government House leader), François-Philippe Champagne (innovation) as well as Green Party Leader Elizabeth May, Green MP Mike Morrice, NDP MP Alexandre Boulerice and Liberal MP Jaime Battiste comment on the ongoing debate in the House over the Conservative party’s privilege motion regarding the production of government documents related to Sustainable Development Technology Canada.

Conservative MP Michael Barrett, NDP MP Charlie Angus, as well as Champagne and Battiste face questions over shifting claims related to Employment Minister Randy Boissonnault’s family background and ethical allegations surrounding his former business.

Boulerice and Champagne also react to reports that Iran allegedly planned to assassinate former justice minister Irwin Cotler.
