At a news conference in Montreal, Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon highlights the construction of close to 1,000 housing units in the city following a federal investment of more than $360 million.
He is accompanied by Liberal MP Anthony Housefather, Snowdon city councillor Sonny Moroz and Groupe Olymbec’s Derek Stern. MacKinnon faces questions from reporters on the 55,000 Canada Post workers who went on strike Friday ahead of the holiday season. The action comes following a failure to reach a negotiated settlement between the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) and Canada Post.
