Calls for Liberal caucus secret ballot, supply management – October 31, 2024

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons. Trade Minister Mary Ng and Revenue Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau face questions on the Bloc Québécois bill on supply management that is currently being studied by a Senate committee.

Ng also comments on allegations of foreign interference.

Innovation minister François-Philippe Champagne and Liberal MP Joël Lightbound respond to questions on calls for a secret ballot vote in caucus on Justin Trudeau’s leadership.

Conservative MP Michael Barrett comments on the ongoing debate in the House over his party’s privilege motion regarding the production of government documents related to Sustainable Development Technology Canada.

NDP MP Alistair MacGregor responds to questions on Bloc Québécois move to work with other opposition parties to try to topple the minority Liberal government. This comes following the government’s failure to meet the Bloc’s October 29 deadline to pass two of its private members’ bills.
