Liberal caucus unrest, federal autism framework – October 21, 2024

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons. Ministers Mark Holland (health), François-Philippe Champagne (innovation) and Jean-Yves Duclos (public services) as well as Liberal MPs Marcus Powlowski, Stéphane Lauzon, Yasir Naqvi, Sameer Zuberi, John McKay, Ken Hardie, Jean Yip and Maninder Sidhu face questions on reports that a group of MPs plan to formally ask Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to step down as the Liberal party leader at this Wednesday’s federal caucus meeting.
Holland also reacts to criticism of the government’s recently announced federal autism framework.
Conservative MP Jacques Gourde comments briefly on outgoing CBC President Catherine Tait’s committee appearance on executive compensation at the public broadcaster.
