The Liberal government has rejected the Bloc Québécois motion to increase Old Age Security benefits for people aged 65 to 74. Despite its adoption, the motion is not binding, as the Cabinet voted against it. As a result, the Bloc motion did not receive the royal recommendation needed to move forward. Some Liberal MPs voted with the opposition. Our host Catherine Lafrance discusses the issue with MP Christine Normandin.

We revisited the debate between the two U.S. vice-presidential candidates, Tim Walz and J.D. Vance, with Jean-François Lisée, former leader of the Parti Québécois and former Washington correspondent for La Presse.

Observers around the world fear all-out war in the Middle East as Israel, Iran and Hezbollah clash on several fronts. Catherine Lafrance talks to Rachad Antonius, Middle East conflicts specialist of the Institut d’études internationales de Montréal.
