Quebec to move ahead for expended MAID: Ottawa reacts – September 25, 2024

The Quebec government has not waited for its federal counterpart to amend its Criminal Code to authorize advance requests for medical assistance in dying for people with degenerative diseases. Such requests will be accepted in Quebec as of October 30.

CPAC’s Michael Serapio asks Federal Health Minister Mark Holland about if his government will challenge Quebec’s move and the implications of this development for the other provinces.
