Our Bureau Chiefs panel discusses the latest tensions at the House – September 20, 2024

A heated exchange took place on Thursday at the House of Commons between Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh. The NDP leader left his seat to confront his Conservative counterpart after he called him “a fake, a phony and a fraud.” We discuss the current dynamics between the federal parties with our Bureau Chief panellists Tonda MacCharles (Toronto Star), Joël-Denis Bellavance (La Presse) and Robert Fife (The Globe and Mail).

Our panel also discusses the rejection of the Conservative non-confidence motion by the NDP and Bloc Québécois, as well as the projected survival of the Liberal minority government.
