MPs on planned Conservative non-confidence motion – September 19, 2024

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons. Conservative House Leader Andrew Scheer, Conservative MP Pierre-Paul Hus and Liberal House Leader Karina Gould react to NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh’s decision to vote against the non-confidence motion the Conservative party is set to introduce in the House next week.
Ministers Marc Miller (immigration), Jean-Yves Duclos (public services) and Liberal MP Mark Garretson respond to questions on Pablo Rodriguez’s decision depart cabinet and sit as an independent in the House of Commons until he launches his campaign for leadership of the Quebec Liberal party in early 2025.
Duclos also responds to questions on his new role as the government’s new Quebec lieutenant following Rodriguez’s departure
