Liberals on possible confidence motion, MPs’ pensions – September 18, 2024

Ministers and Liberal MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as the federal party holds its weekly caucus meeting.
Ministers François-Philippe Champagne (innovation), Karina Gould (government House leader), Jonathan Wilkinson (natural resources), Steven MacKinnon (labour), Ginette Petitpas Taylor (veterans affairs), Arif Virani (justice) and Soraya Martinez Ferrada (tourism) face questions on Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s plan to introduce a non-confidence motion in the House of Commons next week.
Dan Vandal (northern affairs), MP Yasir Naqvi and Gould comment on the Conservatives accusing NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh of supporting the Liberal government so he can become eligible for an MP pension.
Jean-Yves Duclos (public services), Marc Miller (immigration), MP Sophie Chatel and Ferrada respond to reports that Transport Minister Pablo Rodriguez will resign from cabinet to run for leader of the Quebec Liberal party.
Mark Holland (health) comments on the state of negotiations with the provinces for the creation of a national pharmacare program.
