Officials provide update on Jasper wildfire recovery – September 13, 2024

Representatives from Parks Canada, the municipality of Jasper, and other organizations hold a news conference to discuss the progress being made on recovery efforts following the summer wildfire in Jasper, which saw close to 30% of the town destroyed.

Speaking are Richard Ireland (mayor of Jasper), Bill Given (chief administrative officer of Jasper), Beth Sanders (director of urban design and standards for Jasper), Alan Fehr (field unit superintendent for Jasper National Park), Robie Gourd (director for the Jasper Recovery Centre, Parks Canada), and Rick McIver (Alberta minister of municipal affairs).
