Singh appoints new Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff « Canada’s NDP
Long-time strategists Jo Gauvin and Erin Morrison take on new roles
OTTAWA—Jagmeet Singh announced changes to his senior staff team on Monday.
Jonathan Gauvin has been named the NDP leader’s Chief of Staff. Gauvin has been working with the NDP since 2014. He has served in several roles including Director of Policy and most recently Deputy Chief of Staff. Gauvin steps in for Jennifer Howard, who is stepping away to take on the national campaign director role for the next federal election.
Erin Morrison joins Singh’s team as Deputy Chief of Staff with primary responsibility for communications. Morrison joins the team after serving in senior positions with the Ontario NDP Caucus and Saskatchewan NDP Caucus, and providing strategic and communications counsel to political leaders and organizations across the country.

“Having Erin Morrison join our team as Deputy Chief of Staff gives us an incredibly strong senior team. Her experience as a skilled communicator and strategist will help us deliver the message to Canadians that New Democrats are ready to bring down the cost of living and deliver hope for the future.”

Both appointments are effective Sept. 16, 2024.
