MLAs Alexis and D’Eith say expanded BC Transit services will support commuters in the Central Fraser Valley
MISSION- BC NDP MLAs Pam Alexis and Bob D’Eith say people who use transit in Mission and Abbotsford will see improved service as a result of expanded BC Transit services.
“Improved transit options are great news for people in the Fraser Valley, including these improvements to BC Transit routes between Abbotsford and Mission,” said Pam Alexis, MLA for Abbotsford-Mission. “It’s great that soon more people along these routes will be able to access transit on Sundays.”
To promote increased ridership and support the continued growth in Mission and Abbotsford, BC Transit is providing expanded service with support from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure on multiple routes. This expansion includes more handyDART services in Central Fraser Valley, including Sunday and Holiday service, as well as Sunday service improvements along routes 31, 32, 33, and 34. Additionally, extended hours for Central Fraser Valley Connection will increase service reliability. BC Transit will also introduce service to Silver Creek Industrial park in Mission.
“Expanding transit services along these routes means more reliable travel for people here in Mission,” said Bob D’Eith, MLA for Maple Ridge-Mission. “Additionally, people who need to get to and from Silver Creek Industrial park will benefit from added services to the area.”
This investment in the local transit system ensures that public transit services can continue to offer dependable transportation options for people.
The expanded service is part of improved transit service in communities across B.C. To support communities and the increased demand for public transit, the Province is committing $298 million for new BC Transit system expansion. BC Transit is expanding systems to shape the growth of communities that will benefit from new routes, more buses and improved service.
