Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Nuxalk Nation, and Ingenium collaborate to create new Snootli Creek Hatchery Welcome Centre marking the completion of a $20 million hatchery rebuild

Bella Coola, B.C. – On August 22, 2024, the new Welcome Centre at Snootli Creek Hatchery will officially open. The Centre features dynamic and interactive displays written in three languages: Nuxalk, English and French. The rebuilt and modernized hatchery is now a state-of-the-art facility that will continue to support the protection, conservation and restoration of wild Pacific salmon stocks in British Columbia, which is a key priority for the Government of Canada.
