Pedneault Resigning As Deputy Leader

July 9, 2024 at 8:36 am  Federal, Politics

Green Party of Canada deputy leader Jonathan Pedneault announced today that he is resigning from his position and politics for personal reasons.

“It has been the honour of a lifetime to work alongside Elizabeth May – an absolute national treasure – and Mike Morrice, two outstanding Members of Parliament who dedicate their every waking hour to making the lives of their constituents better,” said Pedneault. “At a time of hyper-partisanship, Elizabeth and Mike exemplify public service in ways that no other politicians can or do.”

“I’m heartbroken at the news that my dear friend and deputy leader Jonathan Pedneault is resigning. But I fully respect his decision, and I’ll keep working to build the Green party up,” said Elizabeth May.

Pedneault will offer no further comments on the matter.
